June 28th 2019 marked our annual Summer Development Day. This is a fun day to talk about our Strategy and vision, and to collaborate and share ideas. Of course, we celebrated our achievements so far alongside copious eating, drinking and sunshine that brings the whole company together.
Continuous growth and a move towards vertical service offerings and more AI & Automation
Every year we grow by 50% - 100% in headcount which means welcoming new starters every month. 2019 has been no different so we greeted all 19 of our new joiners by showing their beautiful headshots.
Our two Founding Directors, Tom Holmes and Helen Thiel, talked excitedly about our recent successes designing, building and deploying robots for HR in Central Government. We have developed this capability in our existing consultants to create holistic transformation professionals. Together with our thought leadership on the ‘Vanguard of AI in HR’ (white paper coming soon!), we are delivering bigger benefits faster, both before and after an organisation has moved to the Cloud.
We’re all delighted about the feedback from our clients that we are the only consultancy uniquely combining specialist HR transformation skills with proven delivery of Robotic Process Automation in HR.
Our first Engagement Survey!
Emma Hanley from our Senior Leadership Team presented the results of our first employee engagement survey. Here are some of our favourite quotations:
Of course there are always opportunities to improve and introduce new initiatives too so we worked in groups to pitch ideas for Recognition schemes, better systems to facilitate collaboration, and increasing uptake of our generous ten day training allowance each year.
The day was also an opportunity to unveil our new careers page and video about Life at Veran. This was a collaborative effort between the marketing and recruitment teams, and their weeks of hard work paid off. We think the page and video reflect how much we all love what we do so give us your feedback!
As per tradition, the afternoon was dedicated to consulting teams presenting their project updates. The delivery of these project updates is a highly competitive and entertaining activity that the whole business looks forward to. This took on various forms; from poems to charades to an uncanny parody of the hit 80s show Blind Date. This was an opportunity for our consultants to take center stage to present their work in an informative albeit quirky manner and they did not disappoint!
We then walked to our favourite Soho hangout, The House of St Barnabas. This is a private members club set in a beautiful 18th century Georgian house which operates as a social enterprise dedicated to ending the cycle of homelessness. Veran Performance is proud to sponsor their ground breaking work and we enjoyed drinks in the private garden, followed by an enormous Indian feast in Central London.
